Would you pass Minerva verification?

Six questions, about two minutes, no account. You get an honest answer and, if something is missing, the exact list of what to fix — before you spend anything.

Who can teach on Minerva?

Qualified South African teachers with verifiable credentials. Certified school teachers, university lecturers and verified subject specialists all qualify. What matters is that the qualification and identity can be checked against the relevant education bodies.

What documents do I need?

An identity document, your qualification certificates, a proof of residence from the last three months, a CV, and South African banking details in your own name. All of it is uploaded in one step near the end of the application.

How long does verification take?

Typically five to ten business days. We check your credentials with the relevant education bodies and email you once a decision is made.

When is the R99 charged, and what does it cover?

Once, at the very end of the application — never upfront. It covers the cost of verifying your identity and teaching qualification. There is no subscription and nothing to pay to publish lessons, host live classes or take tutoring once you are approved.

Do I need to be SACE registered?

If you teach at a South African school, yes — SACE registration is the professional requirement and it is what we verify against. Lecturers and subject specialists who fall outside SACE's scope are assessed on their qualification and subject expertise instead. SACE registration currently costs R200, with a R180 annual levy for educators not paid through PERSAL.

What if I'm declined?

You will get an email explaining why, and you are welcome to reply to it. Most declines are "more information needed" rather than a final no — which is exactly what this pre-check is designed to catch before you get there.
