Teach what you know. Earn what you deserve.

Minerva is a professional platform for verified South African teachers. Upload recorded lessons, host live classes and take on 1-on-1 tutoring — and keep 85% of every rand, paid into your bank account by EFT on the 5th of each month with no withdrawal minimum.

Three ways to earn, one payout

Recorded video lessons. Upload once; students pay per access. They keep earning while you are teaching your day classes.

Live classes. Schedule a session, set the price, fill the room. Higher yield per hour than a recording.

1-on-1 tutoring. Set your own hourly rate. Students browse and book; you confirm and teach.

We handle the admin

Scheduling, payment collection, invoicing, content hosting and student support are all built into the platform. There is no separate booking calendar to manage and no chasing payments — the admin that usually eats into evenings and weekends is ours, not yours.

Questions teachers actually ask

Who can apply?

Qualified South African teachers with verifiable credentials. Certified school teachers, university lecturers and verified subject specialists are all welcome.

Is there a fee, and what does it cover?

A once-off R99, charged at the very end of your application rather than upfront. It covers verifying your teaching credentials and identity with the relevant education bodies. There is no subscription and no fee to publish lessons, host live classes or take on tutoring once you are approved.

Can I keep my current teaching post?

Yes. Most teachers on Minerva keep their full-time post and build content or host live classes around it — evenings, weekends or school holidays. Recorded lessons keep earning while you are at school.

How and when will I get paid?

85% of every transaction is paid monthly by EFT to your South African bank account on the 5th of each month, with no minimum withdrawal. Your dashboard shows earnings in real time, broken down by lesson views, live class attendance and tutoring sessions.

Do I need special equipment?

No. A smartphone or laptop with a camera, decent lighting and a quiet room is enough to start. For live classes you will want at least 10 Mbps.

How long does verification take?

Typically five to ten business days. We verify your credentials with the relevant education bodies and notify you by email once a decision is made.
